Assistant Manager - Parramatta Store
Sales/ Marketing/ Administration Assistant - Website Management - located at head office
Casual staff - all stores over summer
We seek individuals who have a passion for serving people well, who understand the principles of up selling and add-on sales, have a thirst for product knowledge, and can offer attention to detail in their work in presenting and selling quality outdoor related merchandise. Applicants for all positions must be available for weekends and peak trade periods.
Applications for management positions need to demonstrate their experience in managing a successful business and a team of people, understanding the principles of management cost controls in a retail business, financial report analysis, accountability and responsibility.
Applicants for Retail Sales Positions need to demonstrate their strong work ethic, willingness to apply quality customer service principles, and work as part of a team to perform and drive a growing and successful business.
All positions are hands on roles - meaning all staff are involved with all aspects of running the business, including receiving stock and unloading trucks, checking invoices, displays and merchandising, sales, stock control, promotions, organising and working at Camping shows throughout the year.

Kangaroo Tent City and BBQs has taken over Big Shanes Camping World, to become Kangaroo Tent City - Maitland Store, in April 2007. The store has a fresh new layout with new fixtures, new product lines and displays such as a new range of Kangaroo Camper Trailers, and a freshly painted exterior with the new Kangaroo Tent City Signage. Many customers who have visited the store still remember the old Kangaroo Tent City store at Mayfield, that has been closed for 20 years. Many customers who once lived in Sydney, remember Kangaroo Tent City from days gone by when they shopped in the Sydney stores and are very pleased to see Kangaroo Tent City once again serving customers in the Newcastle/ Hunter Valley region.
With 5 stores, Kangaroo Tent City is now the largest independently owned camping and outdoor retailer in NSW.

Retail Sales Professionals
Kangaroo Tent City & BBQs is the largest outdoor retailer of quality camping and outdoor goods in NSW, operating since 1949. We are always seeking good people to come and join our team. If you are a great retailer, have a passion for the outdoors, have experience with quality outdoor products, or simply love to serve people, we would love to talk to you about joining us.
You will be a master at offering the highest quality customer service and your keen eye for detail will create and maintain a beautiful showroom. You will be keen to learn and develop specialist knowledge for a large range of outdoor products. You will manage product categories and stock turns. Naturally, your flexibility and multi-tasking skills will help you to handle a number of tasks while serving customers. Responsibilities will include generating sales opportunities and striving to achieve sales budgets, providing the best quality customer service and dealing with difficult customers, receiving deliveries, in-store merchandising, stock returns, liaison with suppliers and general retail duties.
Sales people with a proven ability to drive and grow sales will be viewed favourably. Naturally confident and capable in dealing with customers, you enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks and have the unique ability to serve more than one customer at a time. You are a self-motivated, pro-active person with excellent planning and time management skills, able to work both weekends and weekdays. Your ability and willingness to implement processes and ensure they work will serve you well in this Company. You are not afraid to initiate new projects and use your creative flair to exceed Company expectations. You have a unique ability to build relationships at all levels of an organisation, which is supported by your strong communication skills. Your skills in operating a PC will support your strong desire to finish what you start. You will also have a genuine interest in outdoor leisure activities and all the gadgets that go along with it!
