If you are looking to buy a kayak this summer then you cant miss this great opportunity. Free to try on the day, with the opportunity to paddle a variety of models to feel the difference and select the right kayak for your needs. Please contact your nearest store and pre register, meet at the store on the day at 8am and then travel to the site.

Kangaroo Tent City is proud to offer you the opportunity to paddle a kayak at a location close to your nearest store, and try different models before you buy. Join us early one Saturday morning and we will supply a range of different boats for you to try with us.
Bring your family and friends for a great morning on the water. Pre registration is essential.
Planned dates for Kayak Trial Days are as follows:
Western Sydney Location - Nepean River, South Penrith - Saturday 4th September
Central Sydney Location - Lane Cove River Park, Lane Cove - Saturday 18th September
Central Coast Location - Panonia Rd Wyong (next to the Riverside - Eyong Bowling Club) Sunday 12th September
Newcastle/ Hunter Valley Location - Hunter River, Morpeth -
Time - 8.30am to 10am
A range of boats will be available to try including singles and double kayaks. Paddles and life vests will be provided.
There is no cost invloved in the day. Simply register your interest and we will contact you the week before the day to confirm your attendance.

How to get there ?
The location of the trail day will be close to the nearest Kangaroo Tent City Store. Please aim to arrive 10 minutes before hand for a safety briefing.
What to Bring ?
Backpack, hat, suncream, sunglasses, towel, possible change of clothes, swimming costume, water shoes or sandles, drinking water, insect repellant.
Plan for the day
We begin at 8.30am with an explaination of the boats that we have to demonstrate on the day. Depending on the number of registered participants, time in the water trialing different boats may be limited to approx 15 minutes, to allow different people to try different models. Approximately 1 hour will be allocated to time on the water, with instructions provided to cover safety issues, regions where paddling can take place etc. The morning will finish at approximately 10am. The opportunity to order any equipment will be provided on the day.
Safety
Safety for all participants will be our number one priority. All participants will need to wear footwear whilst using the kayaks such as water shoes, crocs, thongs or water sandals to protect their feet getting in to and out of the kayaks. All users must also wear an approved PFD (which will be provided) whilst using the kayaks.
No participant under the age of 12 years will be allowed on the single kayaks, and may only use a double kayak if the consent form is signed by their Parent who accepts full responsibility for their safety and care. Participants between the ages of 12 and 18 years must either have a boating certificate level 2 to use a single kayak, or must participate in a double kayak with someone who has a boating certificate level 2, or participate in a double kayak with a parent or legal guardian who takes full responsibility for their safety.
Adults must sign an indemnity form and will participate/ use the kayaks at their own risk. A copy of this form can be viewed below.
A safety boat will be in the water at all times whilst any participants are in the water. Participants are advised to wear hats, bring sunscreen, carry their own water with them, and wear water shoes whilst participating in the kayaks.
A first aid kit will be available.
Participants may not wear jewellery or watches whilst in the kayaks, and must not carry any valuable items on the kayaks

Please read this document carefully
I am aware in signing the attached document for participation in the Kangaroo Tent City – Kayak Trial Days, that certain elements of the program are physically, mentally, socially and emotionally demanding.
Furthermore, I understand that certain risks and dangers exist in the activity in which I will be participating. These risks include, but are not limited to, loss or damage to personal property, injury or fatality due to inclement weather, slipping, falling, insect or animal bites, equipment breakdown or failure, immersion in cold water, cold exposure, heat exposure, act of God or suffering any type of illness or injury in areas without easy access to medical facilities, or while travelling to and from the activity sites.
I acknowledge that while the program and the staff will make every reasonable effort to minimize exposure to known risks, not all dangers (hazards and perils) associated with these activities can be foreseen.I accept the fact that while the program staff is skilled and experienced, they can’t guarantee my safety, since some risks are beyond their control.
I have a personal duty and responsibility to learn to follow safety guidelines and procedures established by our staff and I undertake to perform them at any point during the activity should I not understand what is expected of me or should I not wish to further participate in the activity.I am aware that if at any stage I choose not to continue the activity for any reason whatsoever, I may cease to participate.
I am sufficiently fit to participate in this program.I have advised the staff of any medical ailments or other relevant information that I may have eg. Inability to swim that will affect me participating in the activity.I agree to notify the staff of any changes to my health and fitness, which may occur before, or during the program.Should I become ill or injured, I give my consent to the Kangaroo Tent City Staff to provide or arrange for provision of medical treatment or rescue services as they see fit.
Public Liability insurance cover is provided by Kangaroo Tent City and BBQs. This coverage does not include loss or damage to personal items or valuables.
IMPORTANT – STAY WITHIN THE ALLOCATED BOUNDARIES EXPLAINED IN THE MORNING BRIEF.STAY CLOSE TO YOUR ALLOCATED SAFETY BOAT AND LEADER.
YOUR CHILDREN ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
I have read and fully understand the terms and conditions set out above and participate freely and accept the risks involved.My agreement to participate in this activity expressly and unreservedly indemnifies Kangaroo Tent City and BBQs and their staff from all liability associated with this event and releases Kangaroo Tent City and BBQs and their staff from any actions, of whatsoever in nature, that may be instituted in relation to this event.Participation in the event constitutes irrevocable acceptance of this condition.
