In selecting aluminium outdoor furniture, we check the frame structure for its thickness (1.4mm not 1.1mm) and resistance to breakage by carefully examining the quality of the welding and the smooth finish.  The powder coating process is scrutinised to check the quality of the UV resistant coatings, using finer quality powder coat to protect the product from the harsh Australian sun.  This means your aluminium setting will resist fading and colour degredation (inferior quality looks like a water mark when damaged from the sun) for many more years than inferior quality furniture built to a budget price. The fabrics used in this range are made from Textmesh.  This is a tightly woven, rot proof, and UV resistant material designed with a memory to avoid stretching out of shape, so your furniture will stay looking good for longer.  Aluminium outdoor furniture is of course light weight and rust resistant and virtually maintenance free.  Simply keep your furniture clean using a damp cloth and avoid permanent exposure to the elements by either covering your furniture or storing away under cover when not in use. HERES A TIP - dont go shopping for outdoor furniture until you have accurately measured the space you have, and bring a tape measure with you.  Allow 80cm extra width on each side of the table you prefer for your chairs to move in and out.  This will give you the space required.  Eg  If you choose a 182cm X 106cm rectangle table, you will need a space of 342cm X 266cm to fit it with 6 chairs. All outdoor furniture requires different levels of maintenance and protection to make it last as long as possible.  Furniture exposed to the elements will deteriorate to different degrees depending on the location eg close to the sea/ salt air, fully exposed to the sun, partially covered, fully covered etc.  Some furniture is made using a steel sub frame, some with an aluminium sub frame, and different materials are used in cushions, wicker and fabrics which means life expectancy is variable.  Always try to keep your furniture clean, and if your furniture is permanently exposed to the elements, purchase a cover to protect your furniture and maximise its life.
